With a generous grant for the Baltic-American Freedom Foundation and their Baltic-American Dialogue Program, New York Art Forensics will be hosting a five-day art forensics course, July 17-21, 2023. The course will cover the essential topics of the field including developing a chemistry-based understanding of artworks and the analytical tools to understand them. We will introduce participants to the techniques of multi-spectral imaging, x-ray fluorescence, and Raman spectroscopy. This course is free to students of and practitioners of cultural heritage from the Baltics. The course will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania at the European Humanities University and the Vilnius University Museum. For participants who cannot travel to Vilnius, we will make a Zoom connection available. Those interested in participating should send a cv and letter of interest to jeff@nyartforensics.com .
